- Jesus had compassion for His sheep.
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (Matthew 9:35-36) Jesus' ministry of preaching, teaching, and healing was driven by a very simple feeling. He did not do it for fame, attention, or money. What motivated Jesus was his compassion for the people. The fact that the crowds did not truly know God the Father, that they lacked spiritual leadership, and that they were immersed in their sins and diseases, moved Christ to act. The situation of the people today is not very different. The truth is that many are still as miserable as before, but they don't even realize it. You need to act! Mercy should compel you to step out of your place to help those around you. Be like Christ and have compassion for the poor, the weak, the lost, and sinners. He gave his life for their salvation—spread this message! Rise up and help. Have mercy! Remember, you too are a recipient of God's mercy. Recognize what God has done in your life. Realize that your neighbor also needs mercy—help them as you can. At the very least, pray for those around you. The one who does more than you is God, and He does much. Prayer: Lord, my beloved God, God of mercy, I ask you to shape my heart so that I can see as Jesus saw. I do not want a heart of stone, insensitive and disconnected from you. Instead, I want to live your commandments as the source of life. Please do your work in me! In the name of Jesus, Amen.
- Put your hope in the right place
"I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry." (Psalm 40:1) We all have faith. Where do you place yours? In power? In health? In beauty? More than having faith, what matters is putting it in the right place. Put your faith in God, for only He can change your circumstances and turn any situation around. When we place our hope in God, He moves. Trust is a fundamental element of our relationship with God. Without faith, it is impossible to please Him. Placing our trust in God is a big step for our faith to bear fruit. God helps us at the right moment, and our hope is renewed in Him. Trust in God. Trusting in God is an exercise of faith. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. If you’ve made a request to God, wait. Keep your faith alive. God will act at the right time. If we trust, we must remain calm. So, calm down and remember that God is with you. To pray: Lord my God, my trust is in You. In Your hands, I feel secure, so I am at peace. In Jesus' name, amen.
- Redefining Priorities
Haggai 1:6 offers a profound reflection on the emptiness we often feel in life, despite all our efforts and material achievements. "You have sown much, but harvested little; you eat, but you are not satisfied; you drink, but you are still thirsty; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages earns wages to put into a bag with holes." (Haggai 1:6) We live in a world where success is often measured by what we possess and how much we accumulate. However, Haggai warns us about the futility of this relentless pursuit. We plant much, but reap little; we eat, but are not satisfied; we drink, but are still thirsty. We wear fine clothes, but we are not warm. And the wages we earn seem to disappear as if placed in a bag with holes. This passage calls us to reevaluate our priorities and focus on what truly matters. Jesus teaches us that true satisfaction does not come from material things, but from an intimate relationship with God. He is the source of all fullness and contentment. When we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33). We must cultivate a life of faith and devotion, where our work and efforts are dedicated to glorifying God and serving others. In doing so, we discover that the peace and satisfaction we seek are not found in possessions or money, but in the presence of God in our lives. Thus, each act of planting, eating, drinking, and clothing ourselves takes on new meaning, becoming an expression of gratitude and trust in God's providence. Let us redirect our hearts and minds toward what truly matters, finding in God the true source of our satisfaction and joy. Find fullness in God. Seek the kingdom of God first, above all else. Dedicate your work and efforts to glorifying God daily. Cultivate gratitude and trust in God in every circumstance. Prayer: Lord God, help us seek Your presence above all things. Teach us to find our satisfaction in You, not in material things. Guide our efforts toward Your glory and fill our hearts with gratitude and trust in Your provision. Help us live with purpose, always dedicating our lives to Your service. In Jesus' name, Amen.
- Christ, Friend of Families
Jesus loved Martha, her sister, and Lazarus. (John 11:5) Jesus loves families! He cares about each member of your family and wants your home to always have its doors open to receive Him with love! The Lord desires to be part of our homes, to be received with love, praise, and worship. Today's verse tells us that Jesus loved a small family in Bethany made up of three siblings: Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. These siblings served Jesus and His disciples with love and hospitality whenever they passed through that region, welcoming them into their home with kindness. Martha was excellent in service, Mary was a fervent worshiper, and Lazarus received them with diligence. When this family faced a terrible moment with Lazarus' illness and death, Jesus went to meet them. He comforted the hearts of the sisters and did something that was impossible for men: He brought Lazarus back to life! And He can do the same for your family. Jesus is the resurrection and the life. He can give life to your broken marriage. He can set free those trapped in addiction. He can restore broken relationships. He can heal the pain of the soul. He can take your heavy burdens, no matter how difficult to bear. Trust in the Lord—nothing is lost! Jesus loves your family. Invite Christ into your home. The family was instituted by God from the beginning of creation. It is the cradle of love, faith, friendship, and consecration that Christ wants to develop in each one of His own. Don’t stop crying out for your family. Pray with your family and seek the Lord, interceding for those who are far from Him. God can do all things. He hasn’t given up on your family. No matter how difficult the situation is, place everything in His mighty hands. Incorporate biblical values in your home. Read the Bible together, study it, sing praises, and pray together. These practices will bear spiritual fruit in everyone’s life. Prayer: Heavenly Father, it is wonderful to know that You care for each member of the family, for all our loved ones. Thank You, Jesus, because You care for all: parents, children, spouses, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, uncles, aunts, etc., with Your love and grace. Renew the shaken relationships, transform the wounded hearts, set free the captives, and save those who are far from Your ways. Visit each one and help us with our needs, loving Father. May Your Word guide us into Your presence and may You always find a place in our home, just as in the hearts of all. Stay with us, Lord, and do what no one else can do! We believe in Your love and Your power! In Jesus’ name, we pray and give thanks. Amen.
- In love, there is no fear
In love, there is no fear, but perfect love casts out fear. He who fears has not been perfected in love. (1 John 4:17b-18) If we truly love God, why do we still have fear? Love casts out fear and draws us closer to God. He is our safe refuge, and nothing can overpower Him. The one who loves God and follows His ways has nothing to fear. The only thing that can separate us from God is sin. Sin brings guilt, and guilt precedes punishment. Therefore, the best way to cast out fear is by turning away from sin. Walking with God gives us courage! When we are in His presence, we feel secure and confident in His power. Perfect yourself in God’s love and feel safe. Remove fear from your life and experience the peace that surpasses all understanding. (Philippians 4:6-7) Cast out fear Increase your intimacy with God. Seek Him through prayer. Tell God about your fears. Open your heart before Him. Read God's Word. It helps us draw closer to God and dispels fear. To pray: Lord God, You are powerful, and in You, I find security. Guard my heart. Light my path so I can experience Your love each day. In Jesus' name, amen.
