Thus far the Lord has cared for us.

Afterward, Samuel took a stone, set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying, "Thus far the Lord has helped us." (1 Samuel 7:12)

God demonstrated His grace by giving victory to His people. He forgave Israel, who had been far from His ways, when the people turned back to Him in repentance. God heard their cry and their prayers, saving them from the Philistine enemies, granting them a great victory in battle. In the same way, He fights our battles.

Samuel raised a stone and called it EBENEZER—which in Hebrew means "stone of help." He did this to acknowledge and give thanks for the Lord's favor and goodness. He is the Chief Cornerstone that grounds His people. He watches over all who take refuge in Him. The Lord sustains us with the strength of His power and cares for us with love. That’s why you can also say today, "Ebenezer"—The Lord has cared for us!

Give thanks to the Sovereign for all His help.

Lord, I thank You for sustaining me this far. You are my rock! Thank You for caring for me and helping me day by day. Your hand strengthens and guides me. Don’t let me walk alone, God.
