Life is just a breath.

Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath; that my eyes will never again see happiness. (Job 7:7)
"Your days are numbered..." It sounds like one of those dramatic lines from movies or novels, doesn’t it? But the truth is, it is a harsh and real reality. Our fragile life can end at any moment. It is a certainty we all face: one day we will depart. Are we prepared for the end of this breath?
Admitting that we are finite and vulnerable is not pleasant. Usually, no one likes to talk about or face the sad reality of death. On the other hand, thinking about the brevity of life can be very wise and sensible. Living with a sense of finiteness in this world reminds us that we are fragile and dependent on God.
Think about this. Live in a way that makes a difference, understanding that your life here is temporary. But trust, for Jesus Christ conquered eternal life for you.
One day, your life will pass.
Glorify God with your life. In everything you do, seek to give your best as if it were for God.
Meditate on the finiteness of life. Read Ecclesiastes 7:2-4. Jesus should be the reason for your existence.
Pray and commit each day of your life to the Lord.
Express joy and gratitude each day. Praise God for everything He allows you to live.
Live with a sense of mission. You have a purpose to fulfill every day of your life: fulfill it in God's presence!
To pray:
Lord my God, I thank you for the gift of life. It is so precious, Lord. I pray that you help me live in a way that pleases you. You gave meaning to my existence! Teach me to fulfill the purpose you have entrusted to me by loving you and the people in my life. May I enjoy the good things and overcome the bad, remembering that I am totally dependent on you. Father, everything here will pass, but life in your presence is eternal. I praise and worship you forever! Amen.
